Source image / fragments / recomposition

A source image is analysed, then progressively rebuilt from fragments collected from local data or open collections. The image format is preserved: the grid adapts to the original ratio.

2. Keywords

Optional. They filter local data and enable searches in open collections. Without keywords, only local data is used.

3. Fragment collection

Choose where fragments are collected. Local data is immediate; open collections are slower and require keywords.

Internal corpus and updated images validated and stored locally. Keywords filter both sets.

Open collections

Slower remote search, used only with keywords: Wikimedia Commons, The Met Collection, Art Institute of Chicago, Rijksmuseum, Cleveland Museum of Art, Wellcome Collection, Victoria and Albert Museum, Library of Congress, NASA Image Library, Europeana, Harvard Art Museums, Biodiversity Heritage Library.

4. Settings

These settings determine the grid, the number of fragments, their repetition and the degree of incompletion.

5. Source image influence

The source image is overlaid on the mosaic at 0, 25 or 50% opacity.
